Three Science Labs
International Hindu School has named its three science labs after renowned Indian scientists, which is a great way to honour their contributions to science. Here’s a brief overview of the scientists after whom the labs are named:
C.V. Raman (Physics Lab):
Sir C. V. Raman was a renowned Indian physicist who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930 for his discovery of the Raman Effect, which describes the change in the frequency of light when it is scattered. This discovery has had a profound impact on the study of molecular physics and light scattering.
C. N. R. Rao (Chemistry Lab):
C. N. R. Rao is an eminent Indian chemist, known for his work in the field of solid-state and structural chemistry. He has made significant contributions to materials science and has been recognized with numerous awards and honors for his pioneering work in chemistry.
J. C. Bose (Biology Lab):
J. C. Bose, or Jagadish Chandra Bose, was a polymath who made groundbreaking contributions in various fields, including biology, physics, and plant physiology. He is credited with being one of the first to demonstrate that plants have life-like properties, and he also contributed to the development of wireless communication.
These labs are named after these distinguished scientists to inspire students to engage with their respective scientific fields, fostering an environment of innovation and learning.
